The fact that Frank Mir lost to Junior dos Santos in decisive fashion has done nothing to keep him from voicing his criticism regarding the Brazilian.

Dos Santos relinquished the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight crown in a unanimous decision defeat to Cain Velasquez at UFC 155 on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas. In a subsequent interview with Studio MMA, Mir was quick to point out the flaws in dos Santos’ game, flaws he himself failed to expose when the two met at UFC 146 in May.

Despite the massive success he has enjoyed in the Octagon, dos Santos’ ground game remains something of a mystery despite his rank as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Widely regarded as one of the top heavyweight submission fighters in MMA history, Mir sound like a man who was ready to close the book on that particular facet of dos Santos’ game after the thrashing he absorbed from Velasquez.
