Two days after taking part in open tryouts for the 13th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” unbeaten welterweight prospect Dhiego Lima has been announced as a late addition to Maximum Fighting Championship’s “Breaking Point.”
A 21-year-old native of Goiana, Brazil, the younger Lima now trains alongside his brother at American Top Team’s Atlanta branch. Lima has amassed an unblemished 3-0 record since turning pro in February, with all three wins coming by way of submission.
Fraser hails from Comox, British Columbia, Canada, and has spent time training with Wanderlei Silva’s Wand Fight Team in Las Vegas. He’ll carry a record of 2-1 into the Lima bout, having won two fights in his home province in 2010.
MFC 27 will be co-headlined by welterweights Ryan Ford and Pete Spratt, a rematch of a February 2008 bout which Ford won via second-round submission. Elsewhere on the card, Brazilian light heavyweight standout Glover Teixeira takes on Canadian UFC vet David Heath.
