ShoBox Weigh-in Results: Nikki Alder, Claressa Shields on Point

Two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields is set for what should be by far her biggest test as a pro on Friday night. The Flint, Mich., native will challenge Nikki Adler for the WBC female super middleweight title and at Thursday’s weigh-ins. Both combatants cleared their final hurdle.

Shields (3-0, 1 KO) captured Olympic gold in 2008 and then again in ’12, becoming the first American boxer in history to repeated as a gold medalist. She came in at 165.2 for her biggest fight in the pro ranks. Adler (16-0, 9 KOs), from Germany, won her world title two years ago and has successfully defended it once. She came in at 166 pounds.

The action will be televised live on Showtime beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
