Rousey’s Wake-Up Call

Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has a strange way of waking up.

Before she started training full-time as a prizefighter, Rousey was working graveyard shifts at 24 Hour Fitness, she was a veterinary assistant, she was teaching Judo and she was training full-time all at once.

“I didn’t really get that much sleep,” Rousey said. “Actually, once on the way back from 24 (Hour Fitness), I fell asleep at the wheel and got in an accident and smashed my nose in. That’s the worst I ever got hit in the face. It’s kind of funny that I didn’t get it from a fight. No girl can hit me harder that that steering wheel and that didn’t even knock me out. It actually woke me up.”
