TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to the Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them were UFC 159 luminaries Pat Healy, Bryan Caraway, and Jon Jones’ coach, Greg Jackson.

The Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., played host to a bizarre night of mixed martial arts action. Healy opened the night on pay-per-view with an upset submission victory over hometown favorite Jim Miller. The former Strikeforce number one contender joined De Santis and Sherwood to talk about his return to the UFC seven years after his Octagon debut. Healy recounts the excitement leading up to the bout, if he felt this was a return or his true debut in the UFC, and what it took to dispatch Miller.

Caraway stepped up to face Johnny Bedford on short notice. “The Ultimate Fighter” alum chats about his decision to take the fight, what it was like facing a friend and former training partner, and what it’s like fighting in the shadow of his girlfriend, fellow UFC fighter Miesha Tate.

Jones was victorious over Chael Sonnen in dominant fashion in the main event of UFC 159. Coach Greg Jackson shares his experience being in the corner of the UFC light heavyweight champion. Jackson discusses the mindset of Jones entering the fight, the game plan, and the grotesque injury to Jones’ foot, which left his toe mangled.

De Santis and Sherwood also took listener calls, emails, and tweets. The guys also take a look at officiating coming out of the UFC 159 event and what can be done to deal with eye injuries more efficiently. Listen to “Beatdown” here
