Olympian and MMA Newcomer Henry Cejudo to Appear on ‘The Tonight Show’

2008 Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo looked comfortable in the cage during his MMA debut, forcing Michael Poe to submit to punches in just 85 seconds at a World Fighting Federation event in Arizona on March 2.

In a matter of days, Cejudo will get attempt to get comfortable in a different setting: Jay Leno’s couch. According to a release, Cejduo -- along with fellow Olympian Rulon Gardner -- will appear on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno on Monday. It will be the second time on the show for Cejudo, who was a guest on the program in August 2008.

The recent decision by the International Olympic Committee to eliminate wrestling from the Olympics figures to be the topic du jour when the two former wrestlers are in the spotlight, but expect Leno to at least broach the subject of Cejudo’s latest pursuit .

The 26-year-old Arizonan signed a multi-fight deal with Gladiator Challenge last month and is expected to compete on a March 24 card in San Jacinto, Calif. According to the promotion’s website , Cejudo will square off with Sean Henry Barnett at the event.
