"I am excited to bring the LFA welterweight championship to Atlanta," promoter Ed Soares exclaimed. "This will be our first trip to Georgia under the LFA banner and we will be crowning a new welterweight champion on July 12. Jason Jackson and Junior Marques will give our southern fight fans a fantastic title fight at LFA 71."
Jackson, 28, trains at the acclaimed Hard Knocks 365 gym and owns a 9-3 mixed martial arts record. The Jamaican is a graduate of the UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter Season 21" competition, as well as the first season of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. He also fought inside the Bellator MMA cage before moving to LFA.
Marques (9-1), who has thus far only competed in Brazil, will be making his United States debut at LFA 71. "Juninho" has earned finishes in eight of his nine MMA victories and has won Brazilian championships in both MMA and muay Thai.
LFA 71 goes down on Friday, July 21 at the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta and will air live on Axs TV at 9 p.m. ET.
