Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by Bleacher Report writer Jeremy Botter.
On Tuesday, UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw announced his departure from Team Alpha Male, a move that many suspected was on the horizon since the exit of former head coach Duane Ludwig from the team. Breen and Botter break down Dillashaw's choice to move his camps to Elevation Fight Team in Colorado, the team's structure and how it might surprisingly benefit Dillashaw's training camps, and whether or not the recent bad blood between Urijah Faber and the aforementioned Ludwig boiling over in the media accelerated this decision.
Breen and Botter also look at whether and when we'll get a Dillashaw-Faber fight, the unique melodramatic narrative that it offers, whether the UFC could really afford Faber another title shot and predict the outcome of the forthcoming Dillashaw-Dominick Cruz bout on Jan. 17 in Boston.
Grab your credential and get a seat in “Press Row.”
