Iain Kidd Joins Press Row

Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by BloodyElbow.com's Iain Kidd.
In December, Invicta Fighting Championship featherweight champion “Cyborg” Cristiane Justino tested positive in a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency out-of-competition test for spironolactone, but it was announced last week that she had been granted a retroactive therapeutic use exemption for the banned substance and would face no punishment. Breen and Kidd take the opportunity to dig into the still-developing dynamic between USADA and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the potential conflicts of interest that exist in the relationship, the hypocrisies and contradictions present in USADA's handling of Cyborg's case and what it means for her career going forward in the UFC.
Breen and Kidd also break down the growing tensions between USADA and the World Anti-Doping Agencies, the weaknesses of the USADA and WADA prohibited substance lists, the hawkish reputation of UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky and whether Notvitzky is more like Eliot Ness or Batman.
Grab your credential and get a seat in “Press Row.”
