Herschel Walker is 51 years old and hasn’t fought in more than two years. Add that to the fact that the promotion where he had his first two bouts, Strikeforce, is now out of business, and one might assume that Walker’s short stint as a mixed martial artist was done with.
This week, in an interview with 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C., Walker said he would “love to do it again” and that, if he were to fight once more, he would want it to be in the UFC:
“If I was younger, I would be doing it right now. Because I’m a little bit older and I have a business going, I would like to do one more fight and then, I think, it’s time for me step aside and give it to the young people. But I would love to do one more fight.”
According to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, UFC President Dana White “did not respond to a request for a comment on Walker’s statements.”
