Glory is set to return to the Windy City on Friday night with another event loaded with action. The welterweight championship will be on the line as reigning welterweight champ Cedric Doumbe (67-4-1, 39 KOs) will defend against Murthel Groenhart (66-22-3, 38 KOs) and at Thursday’s official weigh-ins, everybody on the marquee made weight.
Glory super bantamweight queen Tiffany Van Soest (17-2-1, 5 KOs) will make the first defense of her title when she takes on last-minute replacement Meryem Uslu (36-10-1, 12 KOs). Uslu is a former IMC, WLF, and WKF world champion and came in right on the money at 120 pounds. Van Soest a former two-division champ for Muay Thai promotion Lion Fight, was a pound heavier at 121.
Glory 44: Chicago will be broadcast live on ESPN3 at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, preceded by the SuperFight Series on UFC Fight Pass at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
