British mixed martial arts promotion Cage Warriors will host a six-title-fight event this Saturday when Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions hits the Eventim Apollo in London, England. At the helm of one of the top European MMA promotions is Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan.
"Everybody thinks they're the king in the room, and I think that when you step back and realize and accept that you're not the king in the room," explained Boylan as transcribed by MMA Junkie. "You're not the be-all and end-all in the sport, and you realize where you fit in in the hierarchy, I think it's easier. It's called acceptance. When you accept it, you can move on, embrace the situation and roll with that.
Boylan doubles down on his stance that his promotion serves a greater purpose than is perhaps realized, but does so with pride and joy. "For Cage Warriors and the team and what we do here, we're under no illusions," he said. "We build stars. We put a platform in front of them that they wouldn't have on other shows. We go live into 150+ million homes around the world across 110 countries, including, on top of that, UFC Fight Pass. So to have the UFC as a broadcast partner, to have all those TV stations in different countries showing the fights, it gives these guys the exposure they need to go on to bigger things."
Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions will stream live on June 29 from London, England, via UFC Fight Pass starting at 2:30 p.m. ET.
