Cage Warriors 80 Weigh-in Results: Amoussou, Inman Cleared for Title Tilt

Mike SloanFeb 17, 2017
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship returns with another night of mixed martial arts action as the U.K.-based promotion will invade Indigo at The O2 in London. Headlining the marquee will be a welterweight title bout between Karl Amoussou and Matt Inman and both men, as well as most of the rest of the card, were able to make weight.

Amoussou has won six in a row since losing to Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 122 nearly three years ago. “Psycho” came in on point at 169 pounds. Inman, who has been triumphant in six of his last seven bouts, was a smidge heavier, coming in at 169.2 pounds.

The weigh-ins weren’t without some controversy, though. The bantamweight duel between Vaughan Lee and Nathaniel Wood might be tacked onto Cage Warriors 81 next month, providing Wood receives the proper medical clearance ahead of time. Martyn Harris also became violently ill before the weigh-ins, thus pushing his scheduled match with Hakon Foss to be bumped to Cage Warriors 81. Finally, Warren Kee came in 3.4 pounds too heavy for his welterweight showdown with Brad Wheeler and he’ll have to give Wheeler a percentage of his purse.

Cage Warriors 80 will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT.
