U.K.-based MMA promotion Cage Warriors Fighting Championship returns to action Friday night with a middleweight championship between Jack Marshman and Christopher Jacquelin. The action goes down inside the Camden Centre in London, England.
Marshman and Jacquelin will square off for the 185-pound belt that was vacated by Jack Hermansson after he signed with the UFC. At Thursday’s weigh-ins, both combatants came in well under the limit, clearing their path toward the fight. Marshman clocked in at 183.3 pounds while Jacquelin came in at 182.6.
One of the featured bouts was scrapped at the scales, though. Lightweight contender Tom Green weighed in at 154.5 pounds but his opponent, Brad Wheeler, crushed the scale as he came in at a whopping 161.4. After it was clear that Wheeler would be completely unable to make weight, a catchweight bout was offered to Green. However, Green declined, thus scrapping the battle altogether.
