The first Premier Boxing Champions card of the New Year has rounded into shape as PBC announced Thursday the addition of Ahmed Elibiali versus Andrew Hernandez to its Jan. 12 event. The event is headlined by a featherweight tilt between Miguel Flores and Mario Briones and will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 starting at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
A native of Egypt now fighting out of Miami, Elbiali (13-0, 11 KOs) looks to pick up where he left off in 2015, when he won five times. After drubbing Fabiano Pena in the first in September, he dominated Mariano Hilario over eight rounds in October. Hernandez (10-3-1, 2 KOs), meanwhile, has dropped three of his last fight bouts and is coming off a six-round decision loss to Kyrone Davis.
Also on the card: undefeated welterweight Bryant Perrella (12-0, 11 KOs) in an eight-round bout against Ramon Ayala (23-5-1, 11 KOs); Leduan Barthelemy (7-0, 3 KOs) takes on Darryl Hayes (5-5, 1 KO) in featherweight action; Brandon Figueroa (4-0, 2 KOs) battles Harold Reyes (2-2) in a six-round bantamweight affair; Joseph Rodriguez (10-0, 2 KOs) faces Christian Santibanez (3-5, 2 KOs) in a four-round super featherweight fight; Girban Ruiz (1-0) takes on Rudy Lozano (2-1-1) in a four-round welterweight bout; Saul Amaya (0-1) fights Gregorio Herrera (1-2) in a four-round featherweight contest; Dustin Southichack (debut) in a four-round lightweight bout against Daniel Sanchez (0-15); and Daniel Baiz (3-0, 2 KOs) in a four round super welterweight battle with Andrew Sosa (0-8-1).
