If a mad MMA scientist combined the DNA of Captain Caveman and the Tasmanian Devil, he would probably come up with UFC lightweight contender Clay Guida.
Guida is a tornado of fists, kicks, hair, takedowns, boundless energy and more hair inside the Octagon. He has a combined six “Fight of the Night” and “Submission of the Night” bonuses in his 14-fight UFC career. Win or lose, he is never in a boring fight.
Guida’s aggressive, never-say-die style and outgoing nature have made him a fan favorite in the UFC. Guida took time out to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans in between interviews at Wednesday’s news conference for the UFC on Fox 1 on Saturday at Honda Center in Anahem, Calif.
Guida faces another high-energy fighter when he takes on former WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson on the UFC on Fox 1 prelims. All nine prelims will be streamed live on Facebook and FoxSports.com, starting at 3:45 p.m. ET/1:45 p.m. PT. That all leads up to UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez taking on Junior dos Santos in the UFC’s debut on Fox at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
