“This year, I must have two more fights, probably one in the middle of the year and another at the end,” revealed the Nova Uniao fighter, without naming any potential contender.
Alongside Aldo on the program was retired Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldo, a part owner of sports marketing firm 9ine. Ronaldo discussed one of his company’s high-profile clients, UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva, and said that “The Spider” will be ready to answer all taunts from constant antagonist Chael Sonnen come June.
“I’m sure Anderson will be pretty motivated to beat him up,” Ronaldo said. “This guy did a lot of trash talking. Anderson told me he’s wild about fighting him again, but this time, he won’t make [Sonnen] submit. He will wait for him to stand up and make this guy suffer.”
For his part, Aldo offered his own insight into the Silva-Sonnen situation.
“He has this way of marketing by talking a lot,” Aldo said of the American. “Some fighters need that kind of attitude. I’d already been in the U.S. by the time he fought Anderson. I saw him doing a lot of trash talking in the morning and calling Anderson’s manager [Ed Soares] at night, to apologize.”
