Mike Whitman

Author name A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, Mike Whitman excitedly joined the Sherdog staff in September of 2010. He is responsible for the majority of the site's daily news content and also periodically serves as a feature writer. Mike grew up a boxing fan and was first exposed to MMA at age 12. Since that time, his social life has suffered immeasurably.

When not on the job, Mike enjoys spending time with loved ones and eating about as poorly as one can imagine. Between bites of freezer pizza, Mike plays guitar and sings in his rock and roll band, Red Ships of Spain. In addition to writing for MMA, Mike loves to write for TV and film, as well as shoot and edit his own comedic and dramatic shorts.
